Compassionate Hands

Fairview Church is part of Compassionate Hands which brings together Wilson County churches to serve as emergency shelters for 15 weeks during the winter. In a program, modeled after Nashville’s Room in the Inn, each church opens their building and provides volunteers one night a week.

Over the last five years, 34 churches from 16 traditions have contributed to a ministry that has provided 5,000 beds and 10,000 meals to over 400 friends. Along the way, God has broken down walls and built surprising friendships. The lives of guests and volunteers have been transformed.

Along with providing shelter, we also provide our guests with a hot breakfast, a sack lunch, a hot shower and laundry service.
