SPHERES OF IMPACT
Our mission at Fairview Church is “Reaching our neighbors with the true freedom found in full surrender to Christ.” We truly believe that fully surrendering to Jesus will lead to a life of true freedom, joy and purpose. This is the kind of life that God desires for us, and it’s the kind of life that we find by looking to the life of Jesus. One aspect of this “full surrender to Christ” is a life with impact that moves beyond ourselves to impact the people and places around us.
Paul writes in Philippians 2 that Jesus “emptied himself by assuming the form of a servant.” In Mark 10:44-45 Jesus said “But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” If we are followers of King Jesus, then we are to be those who pattern our lives around his example of service and his call to be servants.
In light of that, our vision as a church for 2022 is:
To spend 22,000 hours serving in our spheres of impact.
THE THREE SPHERES OF IMPACT
HOME SPHERE
Opportunities to serve your family members, neighbors, or friends who you might host in your home.
COMMUNITY SPHERE
Opportunities to serve people in our community more broadly (Wilson County) who you interact with in businesses, organizations, teams or ministries.
CHURCH SPHERE
Opportunities to serve people in our Fairview family, largely through ministries of our church or your Community Group.
SHARE YOUR STORY
We believe that everyone in our church family is able to impact others by serving in each of these spheres on a regular basis. We will provide you with some opportunities to serve in our church and in our community. You may already be serving in organizations or may find opportunities to serve on your own. That is fine, we would simply ask that, after you serve, grab a marble and drop it in the appropriate jar in the back of the Worship Center to help us track the hours.
We would also love to hear about the ways you serve or impact you've seen in your spheres!

FAQ
Have questions? We have the answers!
Anything that you do intentionally as an act of service for others. This could be doing something special for your spouse, kids doing something to serve their parents, hosting people in your home for a meal, doing yard work for a neighbor in need, etc.
Again, anything that you do intentionally as an act of service for others. This may be serving at Joseph’s Storehouse, Compassionate Hands, or any other service organization. This may also be coaching kid’s teams, or donating your professional time to help someone.
This could either be serving in one of our church ministries (such as hospitality team, family ministry, worship team, etc.) or serving someone else in our church family (taking meals, helping move, etc.).
No, this could be a way that you have already been serving in community organizations, schools, or the church.
There are red marbles (for Community Sphere), yellow marbles (for Home Sphere), and blue marbles (for Church Sphere) on the table with the three jars in the back of the Worship Center. For every hour, that you have served in the appropriate sphere, get one marble out of the basket and drop it in the jar. For instance if you served two hours in the community, grab two red marbles and drop them in the basket with the red community label.
OUR HOPE IS THAT GOD WOULD GROW US AS SERVANTS IN THE IMAGE OF JESUS AND USE US TO BLESS, SERVE AND SHOW JESUS TO OTHERS IN OUR SPHERES OF IMPACT THIS YEAR!
