LEARN ABOUT FAIRVIEW CHURCH

REACHING OUR NEIGHBORS >>>

Fairview Church exists to help our community come to know the love of Jesus and grow more like Him. The way that we have worded this in our mission is, "Reaching our neighbors with the true freedom found in full surrender to Christ".

The concept of freedom that we hear so often is the freedom to live any way that we want. But what if a life of freedom doesn't come from having the ability to do whatever we want but from having the ability to do what we were made for? We believe that Jesus came to make it possible for us to do just that.

We believe that true freedom comes by following Jesus and his way of life. As we continually seek after Him (through prayer and the Scriptures) and surrender to Him (through active obedience) we will experience the power of his kingdom and the peace, joy and freedom he offers. We join together as a community to better know Him, follow his teachings and join his work in our world.

CHURCH HISTORY

People from churches across Wilson County joined with students from Cumberland University to reach a new part of the community and a series of tent revival meetings were held at the corner of Fairview Avenue and Coles Ferry Pike.

1947

This would eventually result in a group of people filling the Hamilton family's home in Lebanon to join together as a church family. The first service was held on November 19th, 1947.

April 25, 1948

The first service was held in the new building on Fairview Avenue with 250 in attendance and 7 baptisms.

The church took the step of building a new sanctuary to continue to allow for growth.

1990'S-Early 2000's

Fairview saw significant growth in new members and new believers.

2007

Fairview left the location on Fairview Avenue and moved to its current location.

Present

We are continuing to take steps ahead to reach and bless the next generations with the same good news of Jesus that was handed down from the beginning of our church.
